We are a small group of physiotherapists who are committed to helping your child reach their full potential. We give every one of our families our heart and soul and celebrate each milestone and goal achieved with you. We work exclusively with children (infants to teens) and pride ourselves in helping your child thrive.

Our Services

Assessment

A written report sent to you and your doctor as well as a detailed individualized home program.

In clinic cost $180.

Follow-Up Consult

A follow up 3-4 weeks after the assessment to ensure progress is being made and to update your child’s home program.

In clinic cost $120.

Active Physiotherapy

We may recommend active physiotherapy instead of a follow up consultation. This means physiotherapy on a regular basis, (usually 1x/week or once every other week) until enough progress has been achieved.

Prices range from $120-130, In-home or daycare-visits are subject to a $20 travel fee.

Call

We start off with a phone call where we get to know each other and walk you through our process.

Book

Booking and finalizing an appointment. We try our best to find a time that works well for you and your child at either one of our clinics or in your home.

Intake Forms

You will receive a history intake questionnaire shortly after booking. Please take a few minutes to fill it out before our evaluation!

Follow-Ups

After our evaluation is complete you will receive an email with your child’s home program and initial evaluation report. A follow up appointment will be booked during the evaluation if one is necessary.

Meet our Physiotherapists, we understand that a child’s body is different from an adult’s body and that children learn best through play. We tailor our treatment plans to child’s physical needs to set them up best in order to improve their quality of life.

Sarah Aliza Friedman

Sarah Aliza Friedman

PHT, DPT

Sarah graduated from Touro College in Manhattan, NY with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She went on to work at a pediatric outpatient clinic in Chicago where she stayed for over 3 years, working with children ages 0-21 with a variety of diagnoses including developmental delay, stroke, cerebral palsy, torticollis, autism etc. She has since moved back to Montreal and continues to treat children in the clinical setting, daycares and their homes.

Sarah is a big believer in evidence-based practice and always turns to the literature when creating and implementing a treatment plan. She relies also on her inter-disciplinary team, who she often consults prior to creating a treatment plan for her patients. For Sarah, the most rewarding part of her job is watching her patients reach their goals and full potential. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, skiing and cooking!

Ashley Messias

Ashley Messias

Ashley Messias is a McGill University graduate, having obtained both Bachelor and Master of Physiotherapy degrees. Ashley finished her MSc first in her class and was awarded the Lois Radcliff award, which is granted to the Masters student who has achieved high academic results & success in clinical placements. She has always had a passion for pediatrics, and loves to watch her patients’ progress from session to session. She believes in helping children to reach their full potential, and seeing her patients and their parents smiling after sessions is irreplaceable.

Becoming a licensed pediatric physiotherapist has helped her turn her love and passion of helping people into a fulfilling and exciting career. Ashley works in a variety of settings including pediatric clinics, homecare, daycare and schools. She completed a placement at the Alyn Hospital in Jerusalem, a leading hospital in pediatric rehabilitation, treating children with a wide scope of conditions including cerebral palsy, neuromuscular diseases, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and burns. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys practicing yoga, cooking and spending time with friends and family. She is looking forward to witnessing and being involved in her patients’ growth.

What is Pediatric Physiotherapy?

When should I bring my child to physiotherapy?

For babies:

  • If your infant shows a preference to turn their head towards one side
  • If your baby is developing a flat spot on the back of their head.
  • If your baby has difficulty with tummy time.
  • If your baby is scooting on their bottom instead of crawling.
  • Experiencing clicking or popping in their hips
  • Moving asymmetrically (including their head movements)
  • If your baby is not pulling up to stand by 12 months or walking independently by 18 months

For toddlers & children:

  • If your child was diagnosed with an orthopedic, genetic or neurological condition
  • If your child walks on toes or in-toes
  • After an accident or a fracture
  • If your child presents with weak core muscles
  • Scoliosis

What certification does your staff have?
We each have either a Doctorate in physical therapy or a Masters in physical therapy.
Do I need a doctor’s referral to come to your clinic?
No, but your insurance may require one for reimbursement purposes.
How long are each session?
45-60 minutes.
How should my child dress?
In shorts or leggings and a tank top/t-shirt
Is physiotherapy covered by RAMQ?
If it takes place at a hospital or rehab center, then it is covered by RAMQ.

If it is in a private setting then it is not covered by RAMQ, however, many private insurances have physiotherapy coverage under paramedical services.

Do you take insurance?
We provide receipts for supplemental insurance plans and you will need to submit the request to your own private insurance.
How do I pay?
After your session we will issue an invoice with your child’s details.

You can choose to pay via INTERAC E-Transfer, credit card or cash/cheque. If you choose to pay by credit card, please let your therapist know at the end of your session so we can charge it before leaving. Through our system we can safely and securely store your credit card information for future sessions.

I am not comfortable coming in person due to COVID-19, can I still see a therapist?
Keeping our patients safe and comfortable is our top priority! We offer virtual sessions to our patience through Zoom. Please let us know when you are booking that you wish to use our TeleSession.
